What I have learned about marriage.

It is so funny that when you get married you think everything will be so wonderful and easy. No one really tells you what it is really like. I was thinking about this earlier and it really made me laugh at what people don't tell you. My brother just got married and he is the "honeymoon" phase. We have all been there! I try not to laugh when he says "she is so wonderful" and "I love being married" That made me think of this list because once the honeymoon phase passes......things get harder.

-Marriage is like a roller coaster. It is always up and down. The only time it will stop is death.
-Marriage is like art. It is always a work in progress.
-It is easy to put your priorities on everything else but your spouse.
I am so guilty of putting all of my time into the kids and Radu puts his time in work.
-Someone always love the other person more and someone is always trying harder than the other. It constantly shifts back and forth.
-Putting your spouse first is not always easy.
-Loving someone when they really hurt your feelings is incredibly hard
-Keeping God the focus of your marriage can be easily pushed aside.
-It is easier to walk away than to really try.

I say all of this as a reminder to myself that marriage is very hard work but worth every minute. I truly love my husband with all of my heart and I am blessed to have him even during the difficult times. Thank you Radu for working so hard for me and the boys! Thank you for allowing me to stay at home with them and for being such a wonderful father! We love you!
